Johnny Ill Band

Tonights the release concert for the Johnny Ill Band LP @ Jumbo's. Be sure to pick up a copy of "Caption Contest," a new mini-comic we wrote/drew together to give away at the show. Happy to have gotten one last zine out before the end of the year.

Also designed a site for Johnny's label Urinal Cake Records (using indexhibit and art from Ben Lyon)

Fat Brando: Art parade leads to quirky special performance at Detroit Artists Market

Fat Brando is worth a stop on the CCS/WSU Art Parade route -- which will will begin at the Community Arts Building at Wayne State University on Friday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m. and will continue on with stops at Detroit Artists Market, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and the College for Creative Studies.

Most of what you need to know is here. What is nearly indescribable is the Fat Brando performance art piece, a product of the people behind Black Eye Cabaret. We caught a performance by the group at Public Pool this summer and were blown away. It features Chris Butterfield, Andy Gabrysiak and Ryan Standfest.

Be at DAM (4719 Woodward Ave., in Midtown) around 4:45 p.m. to catch the show.
